Common Digestive Issues

Digestive issues not only impact your life but can also contribute to issues later in life. Common digestive issues we help support include but are not limited to the following:

  • Chronic diarrhea or loose stools
  • Constipation
  • Gas and bloating after eating
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Crohn’s disease
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Malabsorption
  • Overgrowth of parasites, bacteria, and/or yeast

Robert Yang’s Complete Digestive Wellness and Support Program

We have helped numerous clients address and treat their digestive disorders. Our digestive wellness and support program addresses digestive issues holistically, acknowledging that there may be multiple factors contributing to what is going on in your gut.

This program begins with an initial consultation where we get an understanding of your health, lifestyle choices, sleep, stress level, and overall wellbeing. From there, we ask you to keep a food journal, so we can best understand your nutrition. Then, we order lab testing for you to determine if there is an overgrowth of bacteria, parasite and/or yeast that needs to be addressed. In addition, markers for excess inflammation and leaky gut will be tested. We can also conduct a food sensitivity test to empower you to make the best nutrition choices possible.

How Do You Improve Your Gut Microbiome?

In a healthy gut, there is a symbiotic relationship with bacteria in the small and large intestine called the gut microbiome. The gut microbiome regulates your gut and can affect your hormones, allergies, skin, immune system, and the brain. Here are some ways to improve your gut microbiome:

  • Eat cruciferous vegetables and fruit high in fiber
  • Avoid alcohol, sugar, processed foods, and industrial seed oils
  • Reduce stress
  • Get enough sleep
  • Exercise regularly
  • Stay hydrated
  • Chew your food
  • Get tested for food intolerances

Q&A

How Does a Consultation Work?

Although our office is located in Encinitas, CA our Telehealth platform called Healthie, which also has a mobile friendly app component, allows us to conduct Telehealth calls with clients across the world.

Your initial nutrition consultation will be a Telehealth call through Healthie where we will review your completed Health History form and the required Seven-Day Food journal.  Food journals can be done through the convenience of the Healthie app and require you to snap a picture of what you ate during the day and write a brief description of your meal. During your initial nutrition consultation Robert will make recommendations for laboratory tests that may be appropriate for your specific health issues.

What Is Your Cancellation and Reschedule Policy?

Cancellation and Reschedule Policy

When an appointment is scheduled, time is reserved especially for you and no one else. This appointment is a commitment you and the practitioner have made to your health. Since our appointments are much longer than standard office visits, cancellations are significant interruptions to the office.

When you do not cancel an appointment promptly, you may be preventing another client from getting much-needed treatment. Thus, a minimum of 2 business days (48 hours) notice is required for cancellations and reschedules.

There will be a 100% office visit charge ($150 for a ½ hour, $300 for 1 hour) for no-shows, late cancellations, or reschedules that cannot be filled.

All appointments must be reserved with a credit card. Please be aware: Holidays and weekends do not constitute business days, so all Monday appointments must be canceled by Thursday. It is your responsibility to remember your appointment date and time.
